Chennai Super Kings Past History
IPL 2008: CSK started in the IPL remarkably, and they were runners-up for the 2008 season.
IPL 2009: CSK’s journey ended in the Semi-Final in 2009.
IPL 2010: Champions!!! Chennai Super Kings won their first IPL Title in 2010.
IPL 2011: CSK won the IPL Trophy for the second time in a row. Hence, they retained their IPL Title.
IPL 2012: Again defending their Champions Title, CSK came up a little short this time as they lost in the Final. They were the Runners-up.
IPL 2013: In 2013, CSK went too close to getting their hands on the trophy but finished as Runners-up.
IPL 2014: Super Kings’ journey ended in playoffs in the 2014 season of the IPL.
IPL 2015: CSK again made it into the Final in 2015 but lost the match, eventually becoming Runners-up.
IPL 2018: CSK returned in the 2018 season after the 2 years suspension was lifted. They returned and showed every winner why they were the Kings as they won their 3rd IPL trophy.
IPL 2019: They lost the Final and were Runners-up.
IPL 2020: This was the first time CSK got eliminated in the league stage.
IPL 2021: CSK became 4-time Champions of The Indian Premier League.

Chennai Super Kings Key Players
The Key Player for Chennai Super Kings is the Captain, MS Dhoni. Other than MSD, key batters are Conway, Rayudu, and Ruturaj Gaikwad. The other players CSK retained are local players with little exposure in the IPL in previous seasons. Key all-rounders are Ravindra Jadeja, Mitchell Santner, and Moeen Ali, who also works well in batting, bowling, and fielding. CSK is always a spin-dominant team, and they also had Maheesh Theekshana from Sri Lanka with them. Deepak Chahar and Dwaine Pretorius will lead the fast-bowling attack.

Chennai Super Kings has 20.45 crores in their bag money to use in the auction. CSK has two overseas slots, which they will look forward to fill with one fast bowler and one batsman. Dhoni always goes for experienced players; the team can go with either Jason Roy, Alex Hales, or Nicholas Pooran. CSK can choose a professional guy like Mayank Agarwal or Manish Panday from India.
The team can go for Sam Curran from England in the bowling unit. The other notable names are Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc, to add the necessary experience in the bowling unit.
